Q: Current Yaris Drivers: I'm buying a new 2008 Toyota Yaris. What options can I not live without?
I'm purchasing a new Yaris. I'm trying to stay baseline with maybe the second options package (stereo & a few extra features) but it seems that the options seem to up the price pretty quick. What options do you have on yours that you couldn't live without?
A: I have the 2007 Yaris sedan and I am pretty happy with my choice. I am living without power windows/locks. That was my only concession. I do have air/radio and I had the dealer install an alarm system (it was not included). When I purchased mine, the Yaris had just made its debut; so, I did not want to risk having someone else (other than Toyota) install items. Good Luck!
Q: What do you think of the new 2008 Toyota Yaris RUSH?
I am going to buy one as a first car.
What do you think? I had a test drive and i found its really easy to drive!
A: Good cars
Q: if i return the 2008 toyota yaris i bought, will it hurt my credit?
i dont want to be paying 389 per month on a 16000 car. ive had the car for less than a month, can i return it or do a trade in for something cheaper? Should i refinance? Please help.
A: There is no 'return policy' on cars. Once you bought it, you own it. the likelihood of refinancing at a better rate after only one month is pretty slim.
If you try to trade, you will be financing a ton of negative equity on the next car. I do not advise this unless it is an unavoidable situation (accident or life changing event). If you have simply realized you are paying a lot of money for a car you are no longer in love with, then you are low on options.
I suggest you keep the Yaris, make at least 6-8 months worth of payments, then *maybe* someone will refinance it at a lower rate. Its still going to be a stretch though.
Q: could you get a special gold package on a 2008 toyota yaris?
if so do you know the price?
A: They sell them but I don't know the cost. It's probably a dealer item. Why would you want that? For the difference, you could've bought a Corolla- which is a better car.
Q: How do I reset the check engine light on a 2008 toyota yaris?
A: 1. Turn car off.
2. Hold down reset button by the odometer and speedometer.
3. While holding it down, turn key into ON position. That means turn the electricity on, but not the engine.
4. Look at the check engine light. When it goes away, let go of the button. This might take up to 15 seconds.
5. You are done resetting the engine light.
It is the same process for Scion, Subaru, Lexus, Honda, and Acura.
Q: Is the 2008 Toyota Yaris a guys car?
My sister keeps telling me its a girls car but i thought i should get the black.
A: I think the shape of both the Sedan and the Hatchback are meant to be more attractive to the female consumer- HOWEVER, I wouldn't be surprised to see a guy behind the wheel. It has soft edges, which I think men are a little hesitant about.
P.S. I've seen the black Sedan and Hatchback in person, and they are smokin'. Seriously.
Q: Is it possible to have a small trailer hitch installed on a Toyota Yaris 2008 hatchback? (Canada)?
I understand the capacity of towing would be very low but, is it still possible? I looked at some info on the car using MSN auto but no data is available in regards to this matter.
Thank you all for your research and knowledge.
A: Ryder and Uhaul...(rental moving truck companies) always install them on anything...good reece hitches and they are affordable at moving van rental stores...
Q: I just bought a New 2008 Toyota Yaris for $13,800 in Massachusetts. Did I get a good deal?
Its an Automatic with ABS brakes and the Power Package in Flint Mica.
A: Last year I tried to buy a Yaris and it was going to cost me total a little over 15,000. (Oklahoma) So I would say you got a good deal.
The MPG alone should be worth it.
Q: 2008 Toyota Yaris?
My 2008 Toyota Yaris is not reading the seat belt when I buckle it. It is reading that I don't have it on when I do have on and buckled. Does anyone know what is going on? I just bought the car in September of 07.
EXCUSE ME!?!?!
For your info. DFH I did call Toyota and set up an appointment to get the car looked at. Did you ever stop to think that maybe I AM AT WORK right now and can't take it in at the moment?!?
I have to wait till wednesday to take it in. That's the earliest I they can get me in.
A: BFH IS A TWEAKER AND TOYOTA SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP BY SCHEDULE A APPOINTMENT AND THEY SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM FOR FREE WITH YOUR WARRANTY
Q: I need a new plastic rear bumper for my 2008 Toyota Yaris, where can I buy that from?
Ok folks yesterday someone rear ended my brand new 2008 Toyota Yaris. There is a minor dent, however considering that it is new....I want it replaced.........anyhow, I called the Toyota dealership (where I bought the vehicle) and they said that they could order me a new bumper, however it will come in the color white (I need a black sand pearl colored one), they told me that I have to go to a body shop and have them spray paint it. I dont want to have to do that because theres a chance that it will still be off color. Anyway if you know where I can order a new Toyota Yaris Black sand pearl rear bumper, please tell me. Any help is appreciated!!!!!Thanks!
To describe the damage a little more, it is a small crack approximately an inch long (Not visible unless you go really close) the only problem is that the rear bumper is made out of plastic. Can the body shop fix that area without me having to change the bumper? Like I said its minor....but im still freaking out.
A: Try calling around to some local junkyards. Even if they don't have it, a lot of yards have the Hollander system or another similar system that they can use to browse the inventories of other yards that are on the system. They can help you find that bumper, and maybe even get one that's the same color as yours. Once they've located it, they can have it shipped to a yard closer to you, where you can inspect it, and pick up and pay for it if you find it acceptable.
There is always a chance, even with a used one in the same color that the color may not match up perfectly. Different batches of paint can have slight color differences, and also a car that has been well taken care of (waxed, garage kept, etc) is going to look newer and more true to color than a car that has been kept outside all the time, not waxed regularly, etc. If you do find one in a junkyard in your color, and it doesn't quite match, a good buffing on the bumper will probably help even it up somewhat if it's a little faded.
Q: Did I get a good deal? USED CAR 2008 TOYOTA YARIS?
Hi, I bought a 2008 Toyota Yaris two months ago. I thought I made a good deal, but would like to hear your opinions. Although it's a 2008 vehicle, it was categorized as a used car at the dealership with 12,127 miles on the odometer.
Sale Price: $12,955
Down payment: $1,000
Monthly Payment: $298.47
I financed an auto-loan with the dealership at 5.4% for 60 months.
I also bought the Toyota Extra Care insurance for 72 Months / 75,000 miles for $2495.00.
Unpaid Balance due at Delivery: $15,628.31
After five years, the entire cost of everything is between $17,251.06 and $17908.20.
Good or bad deal?
A: GREAT DEAL
except: the Toyota Extra Care plan, you didn't need that, the car is super reliable, and if you read the fine print on that contract they could reject any free repair if you fail to follow the maintenance plan to the letter. ( Meaning ) if you miss one oil change or radiator flush Toyota can reject any future repair if needed.

I have a oldsmobile, and its falling apart, I have been seriously considering buying a toyota yaris for about 2 years. i heard alot of good things about it.

A: The Toyota Yaris is not only a good car, it too is another Toyota that is among the very best.
The 2008 Toyota Yaris has Consumer Reports' highest Predicted Reliability Rating.
For every model year for which reliability data exist, the Toyota Yaris and the Toyota Echo (the less interiorly-refined predecessor of the Yaris) have received CR's highest Reliability Verdicts.
The Toyota Yaris is on AutoOnInfo.net's list of the Best Automobiles of 2008.
The Toyota Echo is on AutoOnInfo.net's 2008 list of Automobiles with Best Engine Reliability, with an Engine Reliability Score of +1.00, on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.
The Toyota Echo is on CR's 2008 used-car list of the Best of the Best.
The Toyota Echo has a 5-year Reliability Percentrank average of .97 on a scale of 0.00 to 1.00. For reference, Toyota's overall 5-year average is .89, Honda's is .84, Nissan's is .70, Hyundai's is .41, and General Motors' is .31.
With regard to fuel efficiency and environmental cleanliness, the 2008 Yaris with a manual transmission is No. 5 on ACEEE's list of the Greenest Cars of 2008, with a Green Score of 46 and an EPA estimated in-city mph of 29 and on-highway mph of 36. The Yaris with an automatic transmission is very close behind, with an EPA estimated in-city mph of 29 and on-highway mph of 35.
Q: does anyone drive a Toyota Yaris 2008 model?
if you could you please, tell me how it handles on the road and motorway? What is the fuel consumption and maintenance like? How about insurance?
is it worth owning?
Please advice, Thank you.
A: The Toyota Yaris is not only a good vehicle, it is one of the best. Some of its distinctions are:
1. The Toyota Yaris is on Consumer Reports' 2009 Most-Reliable list.
2. The 2007 and 2008 Yaris have a CR Much-Better-Than-Average Reliability Verdict.
3. For every model year, from 2000 to 2005, the Toyota Echo, the less interiorly refined predecessor of the Yaris, earned Consumer Reports' Much-Better-Than-Average Reliability Verdict.
4. The Echo is on AutoOnInfo.net's 2008 list of Automobiles with Best Engine Reliability, with an Engine Reliability Rating of +1.00, on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.
5. The Echo is on AutoOnInfo.net's very exclusive Best-of-2001, Best-of-2002, Best-of-2003, and Best-of-2004 lists. It is No. 1 on the Best-of-2001 list. (The 2004 best list is the most recent best list composed by AutoOnInfo.net.)
6. The manual transmission version of the Toyota Yaris is on ACEEE's 2008 greenest dozen list, number 5 with a Green Score of 46 and with an EPA estimated fuel efficiency of 29 miles per gallon in city and 36 miles per gallon on highway. The automatic transmission version is very close behind, with an EPA estimated fuel efficiency of 29 miles per gallon in city and 35 miles per gallon on highway.
The Honda Fit is also an excellent choice. It has been AutoOnInfo.net's top car pick for the past two years, and Consumer Reports' overall Reliability Verdicts for the 2007 and 2008 model years are CR's highest, Much Better Than Average. However, CR's predicted short-term reliability for the 2009 model year is CR's second-highest, Better Than Average.
My friend's Honda Fit's mileage per gallon varies quite a bit. On the highway, he occasionally achieves well into the 40s; however, in the city, it is more common to obtain a value in the low 30s. This may be because Honda has given it zip, and when one has that little extra acceleration, one uses it, even unintentionally.
