Q: Wondering if anyone has had excessive problems with a manual transmission on a 1999 Suzuki Esteem 1.6L wagon.?
My 1999 Suzuki Esteems Wagon (with a 1.6L engine) is years out of warranty, but at about 102,000 kilometers, I am being told that the transmission has failed… for the second time! I also had to have a new clutch at around 80,000 kms. I’ve driven a manual pretty much all my life and have hardly ever worn out a clutch (once on a Toyota Tercel at around 200,000 kms) and never had a transmission fail on me. So I don’t think it’s my driving (and I’m just about the only person who drives the car)! So… I was just wondering whether anyone else has faced similar problems with this car.
A: Weird. Unfortunately, I had the automatic and never had a problem with it. Did you take it to the dealership? Sorry I couldn't be more of a help but I have never had a problem with my Esteem wagon.
