Q: How do I adjust the idle speed on a 1998 Toyota Tercel?
My engine started to idle way too fast and I don't know how to adjust it to slow the idle down and not waste so much gas at stoplights. It is a fuel injection motor from a 1998 tercel.
A: i would say you need a new idle air control valve. thats what controls the idle sped. when they get old and carbon builds up they stick. check with your mechanic for a price.
Q: Is there any way i can put a exhust system on my 1998 toyota tercel?
if any has any infomation on this could you let me know or if there a site i can go to could you also list that in your comments thank you.
A: Exhaust systems are mostly a pretty simple piece of equipment - most of that stuff is just bolt-off, bolt-on hardware. There's next to no wiring, just one attachment for the oxygen sensor, maybe something else (what, I can't imagine). You can get under there and figure it all out for yourself.
Replacement exhaust systems can be bought complete from plenty of sources on the web, including JC Whitney.
Q: Okay I Have Two Options- Sunbird Or Tercel?
I have the option of getting a 1998 Toyota Tercel or a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird. Tell me reasons why I should get one or the other. Please give me very informative reasons as I am very indecisive. Thanks.
that included gas mileage, insurance rates. The Sunbird is a 6 cylinder, the Tercel is a 4.
A: I'd say Tercel. It's a lot newer and given that it's a 4 banger, you should get a lot better mileage. It will last you a lot longer too. I don't think Pontiac's are made that well. GM focuses more of their attention to their trucks so the sedans aren't that good.
Q: How to drift in snow with an automatic?
I have a 1998 toyota tercel with a handbrake that doesnt work. Is it possible to drift with it on snow?
I also own a 2006 chevy cobalt ss automatic as well, how do i drift with that? Keep in mind I'm talking about drifting on snow, which there is plenty of here in Montreal!
Thanks for your help guys!
A: both of those vehicles are front wheel drive. So without a good working ebrake, it wont be very feasable. Buy a cheap rear wheel drive pickup and have fun!
