Q: Is the Toyota Tacoma 2009 a good buy?
If you can think of a better option, please include in your answer with reasons why. Thank you.
A: no new car is a good buy. they drop in 20 to 30% the day you leave the dealer. buy a used truck that is two years old and that has low miles and kept very well, you can find one thats perfect... youll save enough to pay your fuel costs for the next 25,000 miles.
Q: how do i turn my seatbelt buzzer off in my 2009 toyota tacoma?
A: Trying not to be a smart-alek, but easiest way is to buckle up. If you really don't want to buckle up, however, if you look under the seat, there is a set of wires that run to the seat belt buckle. There is a connector nearby that you can disconnect the wires to the seat belt buckle. When they are disconnected, the buzzer is also disabled.
Hope this helps.

Q: Do you know 2009 toyota tacoma acceb cab 2.7 litler has rear differential lock system or not?
A: The rear locking differential was only available in the Tacoma with the TRD offroad package. That package is only available on the V6 models of the Tacoma access cabs, pre-runner and 4x4 models.
So, no the 2.7L version of the Tacoma does not offer a factory rear locking differential.
Hope this helps.

Q: 2005-2009 toyota tacoma?
i need to find a 2005-2009 toyota tocoma for around 16500. i need one that is the double cab v6 with the jbl premium sound and 2wd or 4x4. but how much does it cost to have a 3 inch lift kit and rims added, also grill and brush guard?
where can i find one at this price?
A: Call your local toyota dealership and have them do a inventory check throughout your state. They should be able to find one for you. I picked up a 06 Tacoma Xrunner for only 18K and my local dealership did all the searching for me.
Q: Is their Quote on 2009 Toyota Tacoma FAIR?
HI all, I am an new regal immigrant in US and first time trying to buy a car.
I went to Toyota and get a quote 09 Tacoma D-cab long, TRD sports w/JBL. they said base 27,075 + TRD 3,375 + Manu/Delv/Proc/Hndle Fee 795 = MSRP + ADM Fee 579.50 + Tax 7% + Title 21 = 34,073.21. They reduced it on 33,500 out-door price as they expect the rebate for 09 will probably be 1,000, but they said it depends on the market situation nex year. They can't guarantee it. it might be 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, or nothing. if nothing, price will be + 1,000.
Because it is special order, they needed to charge me 500 deposit that time to the factory to start assenble it, and I agreed to pay. it will be ready on mid Jan 09. Could I still have a space to nego on this at the time to finally get purchase? Or is it about fair quote?
We haven't make any documents or sign at all but paid 500 by credit card.
Please advise me.
A: The deal itself is probably okay. It is hard to quibble over a $1000 on a $34,000 truck. I would be more concerned that this is your first vehicle and you are paying quite a bit. I don't know your circumstances but can you afford the payments? A lot depends on what financing is being offered. Toyota has some good rates on some vehicles but not every model. If you can get your loan through your credit union, you may save money in the long run. You have to look at the total cost not just the vehicle price.
Q: help with toyota tacoma fuel cap?
I want a locking fuel cap for my 2009 toyota tacoma. i have bought a stant fuel locking cap but as soon as i drive the check light goes on.
i went to the dealer but they dont make it no more. please help me????????
A: I came across the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT warning before also while on out of town trip and yes it concerned me, but did go off on my next fillup. Though we have owned 5 Toyotas from brand new (Corolla & Camry sedan, Corolla station wagon, Highlander SUV, Sienna minivan but never pickup like Tacoma) what I don't necessarily understand bec all Toyotas I am familiar with having gas door locking mechanism on left side and at driver's feet, why you need or bought STANT OEM Fuel Locking Cap rather than geniuine Toyota gas cap?
FYI when you need/require expensive genuine Toyota parts I came across and if time allows me, use 2 Toyota dealers located in Texas: Toyota of Dallas and Toyota of Richardson TX bec about 30% savings in MSRP prices plus add'l UPS Shipping. I could not find 2008 or 2009 Toyota Tacoma but below is an example of 2007 Toyota Tacoma Fuel Cap price:

Hope the Above Info Helps!
Q: Chevrolet Colorado vs. Toyota Tacoma?
I'm about to finance a new truck. I've considered a Toyota Tacoma 6cyl. with 236 hp. vs Chevrolet Colorado 5 cyl. with (242 hp) or the Chevy Colorado with a V8 coming out in 2009 with a 300hp 5.7
Which do you think? The colorado seems to be the most powerful but the Tacoma is bigger and would probably be more comfortable.
Please no "Ford Ranger" answers cause I have one and it sucks.
A: consumer reports, motor trend (truck trend), car and driver have all rated the tacoma MUCH better than the colorado for drive, comfort, off road ability and everything... CR and JD Powers rates the tacoma better for reliability by a long shot as the colorado is the lowest rated compact truck onthe market in that regard.
but for my money, i'd check out the nissan frontier. better off raod than the tacoma (by virtue of front and rear lockers, not just rear), available 6 speed in every configuration, 270 hp with the v-6. and depending on which place you ask it's either right in front of or right behind the toyota in overall drive and reliability. plus, with discounts it's 4-6K cheaper for the same features as the tacoma... which is WAY overpriced.
Q: haul my bike - revised?
Original question:
Okay, so I will be moving from California to Texas at the end of the month. I am planning on putting my 2008 gsxr 750 on the back of a 2009 toyota Tacoma but I am pretty nervous about it. Do you think it will be safe to haul my bike on the back of a truck bed? Has anyone done this before? The bed liner is stock so its plastic and I am a bit nervous. Should I just rent a trailer?
Revised part:
Okay now I have a problem. Is there any other way to do this? For some reason, my buddie’s 2009 tacoma only has 2 hooks on the bed and its only on one side of the truck! Now im a bit nervous. Can this still be done some other way if theres no hooks on the truck bed? Or not enough I should say (hooks) But the truck has two handle-like thing (haha sorry, can’t be more specific because im not much a truck guy so have no idea what they’re called) but you can loosen them up and slide them back and forth.
A: on the Tacoma's those "handle like things" are sliding anchors you can pull one of them off that side and place it on the other so you have a even anchor points. with that said you should be fine I put my harley in the back of my s10 every weekend just make sure to check your tie downs every now and again on your way out. also tie a sailors knot with the extra strap. use ratcheting tie downs and leave the bike in gear.
I hope that helps
Good luck
Q: Tacoma 4x2 vs. 4x4 V6?
Looking at a Toyota Tacoma 2008 or 2009, definitely V6.
4x4 would be nice but I'm not sure how often I'd need a 4x4.
How useful is a 4x2 V6? If I drive it as a rear wheel drive only, is it a case where I might as well get a 4 cylinder Tacoma? How useful is a V6 Tacoma when it's only 4x2?
I'm wondering how to justify getting the V6, but without the 4x4. Right now it kinda seems like getting a beefed up mountain bike, but with simple road tires.
I know the V6 4x2 would have more powe than a 4 cylinder 4x2. But wouldn't the extra weight of a V6 model cancel out any power advantage?
I made a typo, powe is supposed to be power.
Basically do people look at 4x2 V6's and say, "Ha, it's not even 4x4, completely useless!" ?
So far the V6 4x2 is looking good. I knew there was a MPG difference between that and the 4x4 but it looks like it's significant enough to affect my decision.
I'd buy an American truck if I had confidence in its quality, which I don't. Besides Japanese automobiles are hardly "Japanese" anymore just like American autos are hardly "American" anymore. They all have parts from the US, Japan, and other places. I'm going for Toyota because it's Toyota, not because it's Japanese.
A: It's a simple cost benefit analysis.
You can find the equivilant fuel mileage for different models here:
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/sbs.htm
The mileage is very similar for the V6 models. If you drive 160Km/100Miles per week, which is not uncommon, with most of it being city (given the fact that you can't decide, I'm assuming mostly city, and not too much rural off roading) that means a differnce in fuel of 7.14 vs 6.67 Gallons of fuel a week. I don't know what gas prices are like where you are, but western Canada, this tanslates to an extra $150 per year in fuel at current prices. Plus an extra $200 a year to maintain the fluids for the 4X4 system, perhaps a bit more for insurance as its heavier, say $50/year, plus repairs, because they do happen, although not frequently to toyota 4X4 systems, lets say 1 extra major repair in 10 years, $1,000 to keep things simple = 100/year. Total it all up, you're looking at an extra $500/year. About an extra $1.50 per day. Not too bad really. Of course, all the variables change as fuel prices change, how well you maintain your vehicle, how much you drive, and how you drive.
Now, I love my 4X4, and love what it does. It gives me access to logging roads, extra confidence, ability to tow friends out of the ditch, etc. But a 4X2 is not useless. I also do a lot of hauling and moving. What I like about 4X2's is that the bed is lower, so its much easier to get stuff in and out.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Q: Is it okay to tow a motorcycle backwards?
Okay, so I asked this question not too long ago but this time, I am wondering if it is possible to tie it down backwards? I have a 2008 gsxr 750 and am gonna use a 2009 toyota tacoma. I am moving to texas in 2 weeks and I am in california now. I've never seen this done before but just wondering. I think it would be safer. Reason being is because it only has 2 tiedowns on the bed of the truck (which is by the tail gate) And the truck has 4 sliding forks on the side of the truck bed. But my questions is this, since the sliding forks are a bit high for me to compress the forks on the front of the bike, I was wondering if I can tie down backwards? So that I can use the two tie down hooks on the ground of the bed to compress the forks and then use the sliding forks on the side to hold onto the back of the bike. Would that be safer??? please help!!! I am very worried!
sorry guys, yes it will go on the back of a 2009 toyota tacoma bed. but it only has 2 tie downs. I purchased a canyon dancer bar harness which i will tie down to the hooks on the bed. and then towards the back of the truck, I will hold it to place by strapping one end of the straps to the sliding forks and then the other around the pegs where the passenger usually rest their feet (sorry not sure what that part is called) is there anything else I would need? I have a total of 4 tie downs, and bar harness kit. I will also cover the bike since I dont want anything hitting it. THanks!
A: YES... you can tie it down in the truck facing rearwards
but if you tie it down facing forwards.. get a couple of friends to sit on the bike when you tie it down.. you will compress the rear shock..
this will hold the bike just as firmly as compressing the forks..
Q: haul my bike with a truck ?
Okay, so I will be moving from California to Texas at the end of the month. I am planning on putting my 2008 gsxr 750 on the back of a 2009 toyota Tacoma but I am pretty nervous about it. Do you think it will be safe to haul my bike on the back of a truck bed? Has anyone done this before? The bed liner is stock so its plastic and I am a bit nervous. Should I just rent a trailer?
Okay now I have a problem. Is there any other way to do this? For some reason, my buddies 2009 tacoma only has 2 hooks on the bed and its only on one side of the truck! Now im a bit nervous. Can this still be done some other way if theres no hooks on the truck bed? Or not enough I should say (hooks)
A: This will require the help of a friend.
Use some ramps and load it up.
Stand it straight up, attach a minimum of 4 ratcheting tie downs, 2 front 2 back, to the hooks in your bed sides.
Ratchet them TIGHT, this will hold the bike in place, as well as compressing the suspension, and take all the movement out of it.
This is done every day, it is safe, if you have any doubts, go down to the bike store after you load it and have them check your straps.
Q: 10 easy points. Truck question?
How fast does a toyota tacoma 2009 double cab v6 4.0L go?
A: I'm estimating here but probably top speed is around 120 m.p.h.
For a precise speed you can check the motortrend or car and driver websites, they would probably have the exact number.
Q: Should we buy a car or wait?
Here are the details:
My husband is in the Army and is supposed to get out in August 2008. I am 4 months pregnant and due in March 2008. We have an 11 year old car with 155,000 miles on it. It needs a new/rebuilt transmission, 4 new tires, brake work, and there is an overheating problem. To fix it, it would cost around three or four thousand dollars.
The truck we are looking at is a 2007 Toyota Tacoma which we will try to get for 23K or 24K. We only have about $2,000 for a down payment. The rest would need to be financed.
We have little debt. The highest debt we have is about $1600 for furniture which we are paying off until January 2009.
We just don't know if we should buy this car now or not with a baby on the way and my husband getting out of the Army.
What do you think?
A: You definately need something dependable when the baby is here...and you need something dependable while you are pregnant... if you can afford it then I say get it...I have a 2006 Tacoma and its a great vehicle.. get the 4 door if you get it... we just had a baby 3 weeks ago and the 4 door has the room.
Good luck...and tell your Husband thank you for being in our armed service.. some of us actually appreciate it.
