Q: How to improve the gas mileage on a 2008 toyota tacoma??
hi just recently bought a 2008 toyota tacoma and i was wondering if any1 can give me any advice on improving the gas mileage on it. it really kills gas especially on the start up. so plz any help would greatly appreciated
A: wells it's a new engine and until you get a good 15,000 miles on it then mileage will slowly start to improve.
Also do not use 4x4 unless you really need it it makes a difference by upto 3 miles per gallon.
also do not force the truck to overdrive keep it at regular drive that makes a difference of upto 2-5 mpg as well!

Is the front speakers 6x9 and the back 6 and a half? I was looking at crutchfield, and they say that 6x9 is not compatible for a tacoma. Anyone have any experience with tacoma audio?
A: I never cared much for Crutchfields info. They are not always accurate. They are more interested in making the sell.

A: A word of caution that all the newer TOYOTAs now require GENUINE TOYOTA/SCION RECCOMENDED TYPE T-IV AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID so most likely it is in your best interets to find your way to your local TOYOTA dealer Parts Department bec if you elect to use any other ATF fluid and should damage later follow, well it might be your worst nightmare if you understand the pic I am trying to convey?
FYI I am planning to change/drop the existing ATF Fluid on my wife's 2005 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER 6 cylinder AWD and I picked up 4 Quarts.

A: go to edmunds.com and you can customize what you want and what you want to pay. I bought my Tundra pickup for $500 over invoice. I told them what I was willing to pay and they found a dealer within 50 miles that would make the sale. Easiest purchase I have ever made

A: 24s is nothing to put on your truck, yes 24's would fit no problem but why 24’’s? Upgrade 24s are like 20s now days for a truck. I would recommend anything over 26''inch rims would make your truck a true show stopper. 24''s come on some stock vehicles now so go bigger. Have you ever been to a dud show? I’ve seen an extended cab with 27''inch and it still had more room.

I want 3-4" of lift. It is 2wd so the lift is for looks. I don't plan on getting bigger tires. Tell me exactly what to do.
A: sounds like the best bet would be to get a leveling kit (spacer for on top of the front coils) this is about 2.5". stay away from body lifts (unless you are around 6+ inch lift and you are running bigger tires ~ 36), longer rear shackles will lower your truck.
My suggestion is to wait and save your money until you can get a better lift

I'm going to be getting a 08' Double Cab Tacoma 4x4 w/ TRD in the next couple months but I'm torn between going with a short bed vs. long bed. What would you pick ( or did you pick ) and why?

A: I would get longbed due to fact you may need it in future. the premium sound comes with ipod plug in.
