Q: Is there transmission fluid on a 2006 toyota tacoma prerunner v6?
I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE ISNT ANY TRANNY FLUID IN ANY MODEL AFTER 2005 I THINK IT WAS . I AM NOT A MECHANIC OR ANYTHING SO I DONT KNO WHAT TO LOOK FOR AND I DONT SEE A DIPSTICK FOR IT. THANKS zACH

A: Zach - if it's automatic, it has fluid, but may not have a dipstick, because manufacturers are trending away from backyard mechanics and quick lube centers from servicing auto transmissions, it does have an internal sensor to sense the oil level. Manual transmission has a check plug on the side of the transmission to check oil level. The oil level of a manual should be at or just below the level of that plug.

A: In the sensor, which is part of the valve stem assembly in the wheel. They have an average shelf life of 5.5 years and are not servicable. If a battery in a sensor fails, you have to replace the entire sensor.

Q: What are the benefits in going to a car dealer to get an oil change? I have a 2006 toyota tacoma?

A: the only benefit there is to going to a dealer is they have a record of when it was done, you don't have to do that though if you,ll keep good records of when you have it changed, dealers have people believing that if you don't have the oil changed at their shop that the warranty wont be no good or the car wont do like it should and most people believe this, any shop can do an oil change just make sure you write it down in the owners manual ,there's a section in it fo keeping track of when you do maintenance on a vehicle, good luck.

Q: reseting the maintenance required lamp on a 2006 toyota tacoma pickup?
at 5000 miles, the maintenance required lamp comes on to advise that an oil change is to be done as well as some other minor maintenance. The maintenance schedule book says to reset the MRQ. HOW?

A: not absolutely possitive but on a 06 highlander you have the key off. then push in the trip button and hold it. While holding it in, turn the key forward to on (not start) wait about 5-10 seconds and the light should go out and odometer will read 000000 for a second. Hope it works.

Q: I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma, and need help choosing a better sounding stereo...?
I know very little about audio systems, however I love all kinds of music and want good sound in my truck. I was told the factory stereo/cd player is pretty good and I won't have to replace it to get better sound. The guy at the stereo store told me all I need is an amp and speaker behind my seat, (I'm short, there is lot's of room). Does that sound right? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A: Try looking at crutchfield.com for configurations that will fit your truck. You don't have to buy from them, but their site is really good for building a system that is compatible with your vehicle. The best sound is going to come from replacing the speakers and deck but you will get pretty good sound from putting in an amp and speakers into your existing deck.
