Q: Problems with the dome light on 2003 Toyota Tacoma?
My dome light only works some of the time. I drive a 2003 Extended Cab Tacoma with 4x4 TRD and SR5.
I looked at the holder and that could be a problem, but I couldn't get it to work no matter how I worked with it.
Does anybody have experience with this problem?
It works some of the time, no matter what setting it is on. Also, I have flipped it over to the "ON" position and tried all the stuff and still no luck.
A: possible weak connecton,bulb need replaced,broken or short in wireing,or weak on/off switch.usely if you take to a toyota dealership drive to serivice area some times they can help with consern.
Q: What type of gear oil should I use for my 2003 Toyota Tacoma?
This is to be used in the manual transmission. Also what should I use for the transfer case and the differential? FYI: I have the 2.7 Liter Engine.
A: im going to say 80-90 gear lube but contact your local parts store to make sure

and can i replace it myself? I noticed the gaskets and the bolts on the ground, also i need to know if they took the whole unit does that mean my o2 sensor is gone as well?
A: should be just the converter and maybe the bracket front and back if they had stolen that as well.you would have to check on the o2 sensor
Q: 2003 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner SR5 Power Steering Pump?
My personal mechanic and a Toyota mechanic have both told me that there is a leak coming from the Power Steering Pump. For right now, it's not a big issue but over time it will become a big deal. Toyota told me that the pump itself is $349.00! Does that price sound about right or should I shop around elsewhere? Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
A: i own a repair shop,,and this sounds a little high to me ,,i do this kind of work all the time,if i were you id check at a junk yard,,and see about getting a good used one from a wrecked vehicle,,it will be OK,,and a lot cheaper also,,i use them all the time,and i never have any problems from them at all,,and any good repair shop,,can install it for you,,you can also get a rebuilt one from any good parts store like advance,,or auto zone,,and they come with a good warranty on them,,and have it installed,,and save a lot o f money at the same time,,good luck with it,,i Hope this help,s.

A: Here in Canada, your A/C system is under warranty for 3 years/60,000 kilometres. But whether you are in Canada or the U.S. the diagnose procedure is the same.
Your dealer will charge you to evacuate the system and recharge it with refrigerant containing a coloured dye and run your A/C system and check it all with a flourescent light that will illuminate the dye when it leaks out from wherever. Then they will tell you what is wrong with it and give you an estimate to repair.
Remember warranty only applies to a part which has worn prematurely or has manufacturing defect. the most common source of A/C troubles is the front-mounted A/C condenser, which is like a radiator. Usually gets punctured by pebbles or debris from the highway.

A: Probably no rubbing but your speedometer will be pretty much worthless. Go to tirerack.com and compare your size 205-70/15 tire *RPM (revolutions per mile) on any given tire spec. page. Now compare a 235/75-15 tire. You will notice it rolls many less revolutions per mile which will make your speedometer read much slower no matter what your ground speed is. Why not find a lower profile (65-60-55) truck tire that's a larger size that will roll out the same RPM's as you have now.
Q: How many quarts of oil should I put in my 2003 2.4L Toyota Tacoma when I change the oil?
Unfortunately I don't have an owner's manual.
A: you need to put in 4.25 qts of oil, this truck with the 2.4 engine takes this amount of oil. the only 4 cylinder toyota tacoma that takes 5 qts. is the 2.7 liter. But your truck takes 4.25 qts with filter.
Q: My 2003 Toyota Tacoma is vibrating on deceleration. It's not the trans. Could it be shocks or struts? Help!
The transmission isn't racing when I let off the gas but I'm getting a vibration as it decelerates. The truck has 87,000 miles on it and I replaced the tires about 5,000 miles ago. I wonder if it might be the shocks or struts. A friend suggested that it might be bushings or rubber pads along the drive train. Any opinions are welcome.

A: That happened to me too! I have an 01 tacoma. My truck needed new brakes. You should take it in and get it checked out! Good luck!
