A: I've owned several Supras of that generation.
1st, there's no benefit in getting a 1992. In fact, if you want the fastest of the years, look for a 1986.5. They're lighter.
Secondly, it vastly depends on whether it's turbo, nonturbo, targa top, how many miles, and basically how stupid the current owner is.
KBB for them is only a few thousand. But you'll find them listed for quite a bit more, because people think they're worth more. They're not.
If you spend more than around 3,000 on a Supra of that generation, you've spent too much.

if anyone knows of a cheap fix for my car... the turbo evidently is leaking oil all orer tha intake and clear back to my mass air flow sensor a friend of mine told me that i could spray some carb cleaner in there but im afraid that would kill my turbo. im also looking for a good place to find a upgrade kit or atlest a rebuild kit for my turbo i dont know what turbo model i have also looking fo a 3" down pipe let me know

A: No cheap fix as your turbo is on its way out. Replace or rebuild is you only true option. Beware that if the turbo goes, it can do other damage such as ruining you catalytic converter to blowing the head gasket with the back pressure.
Q: can any one tell me the top speed of a toyota supra 3 ltr tt 1992 wil do thanks?
A: Assuming it is a TT car, a bone stock car is limited to 155 like all sporty J-cars. Without the limiter it'll hit somewhere in the low 160's with no engine mod's. Those last 20mph will take forever so I'd say 135 to 140 is the practical top speed.
With the basic tweaks (exhaust, no-cat, intake, boost), the practical top speed increases to 145 to 150 with an absolute top of about 170. I've had mine up to 150 and it was still pulling quite well.

A: yes it should go staight in if its the same size engine its only the top which has the turbo the block should be identical as long as it the same cc if it is higher cc you might have to change the gearbox you will have to look that up not to sure which box fits what some have same box.

Car has around 170k and transmission is perfect with an aftermarket cooler for the past ten years. recent work done, including New tires all around (Dunlop 5000 Z-rated), new calsonic radiator, HIDs, a moderately good stereo, and 16" alloy wheels from a 90's Toyota Supra.

Ok, a little bit about me before you read on. I'm 15 and turning 16 pretty soon and have been researching cars for a while now.
As the question states, I'm deciding between several cars:
-Honda Prelude(1992+)
-Acura Integra(1994+)
-Toyota Celica(1994+)
-Toyota Supra(1992+(Probably won't get due to insurance costs))
I will have about $5000 dollars to work with to buy the initial car itself and I'll have more money to do any repairs and modifications to it once my job starts pooring in.

A: Based on the choices you have gave me, I would go with the Acura Intregra. All of the choices are rather reliable cars so you shouldn't have a problem with that. But also, like some people said before me, you definitly should get the car checked out by the mechanic before you buy it.
Im 15 to man, and I would love to have that Supra. But insurance rates would probably prevent me from getting that car. I like the Integra because its really sporty, and rather good looking. The gs-r version also has a pretty good amount of power. and its really rev-happy! I think 180 horses should be enough to get you around, and let you play around a bit. But thats just my reason.

I'm looking to get a car for no more than $20k that's a sporty/luxury coupe. I've been researching a handful of cars and I was wondering which one of these give the best value for the amount as in which has the best balance of inexpensive repairs/maintenance, good mpg, luxury, space, safety, prestige, and NOT too much power. (I don't want to risk my safety with a car having too much power to handle.)
Keep in mind I realize there are other costs to cover such as maintenance, repairs, gas, and maybe customization.
I would prefer that these cars have spacious rear room if I ever planned to take out a few friends.

Well I'm looking for strictly a 2 door car in this situation. I only plan to drive myself, but whenever the occasion calls for it, I would like to comfortably seat 3 other buddies in the remaining seats.
When I was typing this, I was really thinking of getting the G35, but my question is if the repair costs are on the same level of costs as compared to a BMW or Mercedes?
By the way, what's so bad about a V6 Mustang? I'm not looking for all that power. I'm more interested in the appearance.
A: Go with the G35 - everybody and their brother has a 3 series, a 1992 car is going to be too old and unreliable, a mustang that doesn't have a V8 in it is worthless, the Lexus IS looks like a Kia, a mercedes has horrible reliability and costs an arm and a leg to fix, and supras are always beat up (mechanically) and raced - plus you will have your supra for about 5 minutes before some PR steals it.

Hey i just bought a 1992 3 litre twin turbo<--- they don't know that bit Toyota supra 2 door 2 seats black. I am 19 and the cheapest insurance policy i can find for it is 7 grand i have a years no claims and pass plus, so that seems a bit stupid to me, Anyone have any name and or numbers of insurance companies in the uk that are likely to do me a good deal 3rd party, Thanks guys.
