Q: Does anybody know of a hi-performance driving light and low beam light for a 2005 Toyota Solara?
I found a hi-performance high beam but can't find anything for the other two.

A: I believe blue bulbs are illegal in many states. The Sylvania Silverstars are white lights not blue, and are xenon charged. They are the closest to H.I.D. lights as you can get. They are offered in both low and high beams. They make a huge difference. However, they are pricey. But in all honesty. They are probably the best upgrade and investment for the money. You can purchase aftermarket H.I.D. upgrade kits. These range from 200-600 dollars. They are a good investment since they last many many times longer than regular bulbs and are much brighter and use much less power. A total Silverstar ugrade, high and low beams can average 60-70 dollars.

Q: How do you change the CABIN air filter on a 2005 Toyota Solara 4cyl?

A: Read the manual it will tell you where it is. Usually up under the glove box. but you`re going to have to detach it from it's swivel slot. (MOST cabin air filters go there, I dont think all so check your manual)..good luck

WILL THE TOYOTA SOLARA 07 08,09 TAILLIGHTS led FIT THE TOYOTA SOLARA 2005 ?

A: I looked at a few photos on google images and it looks like it would work, there is a design difference in the lights but they look to be the same dimensions, I would call a local Toyota dealer just to make sure your not gonna waste money.

Q: My Toyota Solara isn't functioning properly! Help?
My 2005 Toyota Solara has always been reliable and a smooth ride. This will sound strange but last night i noticed a funny smell in the interior of the car (honestly, it smelled like something crawled in there and died!) and today it keeps revving, even if I'm going on a flat terrain no more than 25 miles an hour my RPMs are up to 3000. Help before it goes back to the dealer! Ps. I checked under the hood and from a cursory glance, everything look alright. How do I check under the throttle and yes, the car went in three weeks ago and was fine.

A: Some animal might have gotten stuck in a place you can't see... might be pushing against the throttle... you need to have it checked out, that can be very dangerous.

Q: Toyota heated seats do not work consistently?
I have a 2005 Toyota Solara with 27,000 miles. The heated seats only come on for about 1 minute every 10 minutes. They also do not begin to heat until hot air starts to blow from the heater. I have tested 3 other Toyotas and they all started to heat within 20 seconds and all heated for 2 minutes every 2 minutes, or as soon as they started to cool, they began to heat again. Also, the battery was just replaced because it tested marginal. Could there be a loose wire somewhere? Is there any source that could affect both the battery and the heated seats? I don't understand why my seats do not work as well as the other Toyotas I tried. It is under warranty until Tuesday, but I have taken it to the dealer and they say there is nothing wrong with the seats because they do heat. I don't think they heat like they should, and they obviously don't heat like the other Toyotas I tried.

A: Could be a bad relay or timer for the heated seat circuit...have a dealer inspect it ..under warranty yet?

Q: Toyota Solara, Toyota Solara SE, or Toyota Solara Coupe?
What is the difference in these cars? Are they good cars? And your experience with them. I am looking 2005 - 2007 with nothing more than 25,000 miles. I currently have a 2001 Camry so I know Toyotas are great just wanted more info on the Solara.

A: I have a Solara SE and I love my car its a 2006 and I havent had any problems with it. Just go to the dealership and ask to see the different models and you decide which is best for you...good luck!

Q: Toyota Solora ,Toyota Solara SE, or Toyota Solara Coupe?
What is the difference in these cars? Are they good cars? And your experience with them. I am looking 2005 - 2007 with nothing more than 25,000 miles. I currently have a 2001 Camry so I know Toyotas are great just wanted more info on the Solara.

A: Well usually all cars have there types. LS, GS-R, Type-R, Dx, Ex etc... The difference between these 3 Solora's are that.. The base Toyota Solora has the extra line across it's grille, the foglights are slighty rounder. The Se has nothing in it's grille, more sporty looking fog lights. And the headlights look kinda more expended. The Coupe` has a MAJOR change. Of course, it's a 2 door. Aren't all coupes? The grille is plain like the SE. The headlights are vertical kind of. Kind of like the Scion tC. Same with the taillights.

Q: Used (2005-2008) Toyota dealers in California?
Im looking for a solara convertible, I need to find a dealership that sells pre owned cars other than carmax.....

A: Go to any Toyota dealer. All Toyota dealers sell pre-owned & Toyota certified pre-owned cars. Solara convertibles are hard to come by. Therefore, there may be a premium on getting one. Your best bet with getting any deal would be to go there toward the end of the month (when the dealers are trying to clear stock). Good luck, and I hope you get the one you want!!

Q: Refinancing a car...not so good credit...?
Ok, I own a 2007 Toyota Solara SLE *with all the bells and whisles*, my boyfriend crashed it and cause 9,000 in damage, it is currently being fixed, but since I did not want to deal with the hassel of having problems later, and dealing with a rental car I could not afford, I decided to get a new car. so I purchased a 2005 Toyota 4Runner Sport Ed. of course i have a super high interest rate on my 4Runner cause I have two car loans, I plan to sell the Solara as soon as I get it from the shop. once it is sold, and it reflects on my credit, I plan to refinance my 4Runner to get a lower finance rate (is currently 20.9%) the loan amount for the 4Runner after all the warrenty's, GAP, alarm and Low Jack is $27000.0 the KBB on the 4Runner is about 24,000.00 (car price was 21k without everything else) I have heard that I will not be able to refinance because the value of the car is lower than the loan amount. Also, when I sell the Solara, I hope to get some money to put down towards refin. Also, I know this seems like a really bad move, but there were alot more aspects to the situation, I have a job that requires me to have a decent car to drive my clients in on a daily basis, the rental car was well over 1000 for the two months, and when I originally bought the 4Runner, I was under the assumption that they were tottalling out the Solara. (obviously never happened...) so I am looking for an answer to the question not to be bashed for a decision that I have already made. thanks everyone!!!

A: Ok - I'm not trying to preach but why did you do this. You couldn't afford a rental car so instead you BOUGHT a $24,000 car with 20.9% interest? that doesn't make sense. why didn't you buy a "beater" car. One for a few thousand to get you where you needed to go. then after you sold your wrecked car go buy another. Or better yet drive the "beater" car a few years and save up enough to pay a large chunk on a new car so you would only have to finance a few thousand.

Q: What other convertables are there?
I'm looking into getting a new car, new for me anyways, a 2005/2006 model. I want a convertible with 4 seats and a manual transmission. I've looked and I've found: Ford Mustang, Chrysler Sebring, Pontiac G6 and the Toyota Solara(No manual tho :( ) Are there any other one's I'm missing that fit my criteria above? Thanks all.

A: BMW 3 Series Chrysler PT Cruiser BMW 1 Series Audi A4 Porsche Boxster Saturn Sky Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Q: which car is better?
A 2005 used dodge caravan or a 2004 used toyota solara? Trying to buy a car but i'm not sure which one. A review website on cars would be helpful too. So if you know any let me know.

A: My parents have always used Dodge Grand caravans, but wiht gas prices as high as they are, you should really stay away from them if possible. Also, the dodge is pretty unreliable. I remember my parents just buying one a couple years back, i believe its a 2002? and all the oil changes and stuff were done, but the air conditioning system and Transmission still had to be replaced. I'd go with the solara. Its a fun little reliable car, but its good on gas! most importantly! With gas prices this high, the solara is going to save you so much money. Its also more fun to drive (i have never seen a fun to drive minivan... EVER). Not to mention that it has a better resale value.
