Q: How do I change the headlight bulb for my 2000 Toyota Solara?
I have the replacement bulbs, I jsut cannot figure out how to remove the existing bulbs
A: The front bumper cover probally has to come off to do this, I have had to do this on mazda's.
Tip: If you have to do this get 4 short bungie cords and hang bumper off these bungies so paint wont get scratched, like hole in top of bumper cover to somewhere by fender. If you do this bumper just hangs there also makes it easier to put on.
Q: Is $750 high to replace air to fuel ratio sensors in a 2000 Toyota Solara V6?
I live in Los Angeles Ca. Ithink this guy is yankin my chain because I am a woman. Suggestions?
A: If the sensor is actually the air to fuel ratio sensor and it's a genuine Toyota NEW part then is a good deal. I would strongly recommend that you call your local dealer and get a price on the part so you have first had knowledge. Also, If you think this person is yankin your chain, before repairs are done. demand that all replaced parts are given to you. If they are unwilling to do so, then find another mechanic. Lastly, Let them know that you will talk it over with your husband even if you don't have one. That will usually keep them at bay. Get a Man friend who is a bit knowledgeable on cars to call for you.
Good luck.
Q: How much should it cost for the rebuilding of the engine of a 2000 Toyota Solara?
A: Depends on what you have to do to it, valve job, rering, rebore, crank bearings or crank replacement?
Contact an engine rebuilding business there are many. That way you can get a completely rebuilt engine with exchange of your old one. Which hopefully will be done correctly and offer you some type of warranty.

Q: 2000 Toyota Solara staring problems?
Occassionally, maybe once every 3 weeks, I have difficulties getting my 2000 Solara to start. I turn the ignition key and the engine turns over but immediately dies. I have to try 3-5 times before it will stay running. Yesterday, I had to give the gas pedal a small pump while I turned the key to get it to stay running.
I've owned the car 5 weeks and it's only happened twice. My check engine light hasn't come on at all. Any thoughts as to what it might be?
A: Your car has a valve known as the Intake Air Contorl valve (IAC) that is controlled by the computer, and this valve allows air to bypass the closed throttle (that thing controlled by your gas pedal). It sounds as though the IAC is sticking so that the engine is not getting enough air to run. When you step on the throttle, air is allowed in and the engine can run. Perhaps after it runs a minute, the valve breaks free and begins to work. Verify this by stepping on the gas when you try to start it, and see if it will run as long as you hold the throttle open. If it runs like that, your IAC is likely going bad. Rather than clean it, I would recommend replacing it, as I have seen problems from cleaning them in the past. Make sure that whoever replaces it also cleans the throttle body at the same time to optimize running.
Hope this helps! God Bless!
(My bad...it's an IDLE Air Control Valve! Hope I didn't confuse anyone!)

Q: remote starter for a toyota 2000 toyota solara?
i have a 2000 toyota solara, can anyone tell me what kind of remote starter i can install in it? ive seen one on ebay (valet 561r remote starter) can that one work for my car and how easy or difficult is is to install? thanks
A: Other post is correct...it is not easy even for veterans. You will need to have a VERY good wiring diagram for the car and also a good understanding of electrical systems in general. A very good alternative is to look into buying one from the dealer. Not only do they have one, but it will be tailored for your car, and the instructions (which they can get) will be exact as to which wire in which connector, etc. It will be a lot more expensive, but if you are not very experienced it is probably a better option for you. Also, then the dealer can help with troubleshooting, repair, etc, because it will be considered a Port Installed Option.
Hope this helps. God Bless!
Q: is a 2000 Toyota Solara for $6000 and 102k a good buy?
Im looking for used car tryin to spend aroudn 6k for the car and need something reliable. Should i get it or no?
A: No, it is a senior citizen car, but it is alot of money for an 8 year old car.
The Avalon is not very reliable compared to other full size cars.
Q: I have a 2000 toyota solara, what does the indicator light on the dash with an car &spikes out the back mean?

A: rear light is out
Q: 2000 Toyota Solara v6?
I am being sold a 2000 Toyota Solara sle v6 with over 120K mileage for $6000. The car is in good condition however I feel that the price is too high for the mileage and the year of the car. Should I ask for a lower price?
A: Actually, the price is in line with the market value. Lower mileage ones are going from 10-14,000. Always try to negotiate and a lower price but I wouldn't walk away from the deal if they don't.

Q: 2000 Toyota Solara Keys
I have recently bought a 2000 Toyota Solara used but the car dealer only included 1 key.
Should I buy a second key at a Toyota dealership or can i trust ebay.
I was also planning to do the same by also getting a keyless remote
A: I cannot imagine how you could get a key from E Bay that would not only work in the locks on your car but also disable the immobilizer system. Go to a dealer for the key. The remote is a possibility as long as it is the same shape, look, # of buttons etc. It will need to be programmed though.
Q: What kind of rims look best on a 2000 toyota solara???
A: any brand of rims that have multi spokes (14 at least), deep lip, and rivets all round (3-piece look). 19" to 20" with 245/35 tires will look real great. check out Work Wheels or Lenso
it sets you apart from the "bling it on" crowd

and this amp
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882010006
The amp is a little on the expensive side though and i dont even know if i need one, any help would be appreciated
A: seeing as you are a noob i'll go through the whole schpele.
You don't need a new reciever, you can use your old one if you want, the one you picked is decent at best. look on ebay and you can find one cheaper.
your speakers, you need 2 6.25'' speakers, and 2 6x9's. You can't have 6 of anything with only 4 holes. Pyle suck to be honest, look at panasonic, i have them they were cheap and they sound really good.
your sub blows too, look on craigslist for 2 subs in a box with an amp or just 2 subs in a box. used subs aren't bad at all as long as you listen to them first. i got 2 12''s in a good box (sony) and a 2 channel rockford fosgate amp. craigslist is you friend.
that amp sucks, get a used one. once you get more serious about this stuff then you can buy better stuff. ebay is the best place for everything but subwoofer boxes.
installing speakers is pretty straightforward, removing the door panels and rear deck.
amps and subs you need to look up onyour own.
headunits, you need the install accessories and then it is pretty straight forward.
go head and email me for help

Q: Where is the EGR Valve located on a 2000 toyota solara? is it something i can fix/change myself?
A: I cannot tell you exactly where it is but I can give you some tips on how to locate it.EGR valves are always between the intake manifold and exhaust manifold and normally connected by an insulated pipe.
As for repairing yourself it depends where it is,most valves are not repairable replace only.
Why do you think it needs replacing do you have any symptoms that would suggest a problem with the valve.
You can e-mail me.
