Is a Toyota Solara a classy/cool car for a single 32 year old female?
A: Solaras are decent cars for single people, and couples without children. They're reliable, get decent mileage, and convertible.
They are expensive to buy and insure. If you're looking at a used car you may even be in the BMW 3-series convertible for about the same money.
It's not so much the car "transforming" you as choosing a car that reflects your style. If you're classy/cool that will come through the same whether you're driving a Miata, Sebring, Solara, or Jag. Or an old Wrangler, Land Rover, F350 truck...

I am planning on purchasing a new car soon and was thinking of a Toyota Solara Convertible. The thing is that i travel a lot and wanted to know if it comes with a navigation if requested. I have looked at a few but still have not found any that have a navigation system installed.
A: It is an option on the Toyota Solara Convertible SLE (model only), it is not available on the SE or Sport versions of the Solara Convertible.

My mom has a 2000 toyota solara. If she does not disconnect her battery every time she gets out of the car it kills the battery. Now she smelled it burning and noticed a howling sound. the car would not turn off. she had to disconnect the battery to make it stop. The burning smell was coming from a black box next to the battery. Does anyone know what this could be?
A: It the mane fuss box. ya have a short some where in ya wiring unhook the battery and don't hook it back up till ya get it fixed ya might burn ya car up. or fry all ya wiring.

Link for the manual, dont try it without the manual. If this car is a rear drive car it is going to be allot easier than a front drive car, and I think it is a front drive.

I'm thinking of trading my car in for a newer Solara, but I would like some honest opinions from those who own, or have owned one.
A: The strength of the Toyota Camry Solara are:
(1) It's a Toyota. The only manufacturer even close to Toyota in quality is Honda. (Toyota's overall 5-year Reliability Percentrank average is .89, Honda's is .84, Subaru's is .77, Nissan's is .70, and General Motors' is .31.)
The weaknesses of a Toyota Camry Solara are:
(1) The 2007 4-cylinder Solara had Consumer Reports' lowest Reliability Rating in the Squeaks & Rattles and Power Equipment categories and an Average rating in the Body Hardware and Audio System category. To have 4 categories below CR's Better Than Average rating is almost unheard of for a Toyota; however, worldwide demand for Toyota's high quality products has increased so dramatically over the past 10 years that Toyota's "bulletproof reliability" (as a Wall Street Journal article termed it) has suffered some. It should also be noted that once the initial shortcomings are worked out, the same model year may, in subsequent years (as it ages), be among the best, without even an Average rating (in contrast to a GM product for which 6 to 12 Much Worse Than Average ratings is not a rarity).
(2) It's made in North America, not Japan.
Q: What should I expect with trying to sell my Toyota Camery Solara?
I am looking to sell/trade my 2005 Solara SE Coupe - I want to know what the best way to go about this would be, how to get the most money out of the deal, how much I should expect to get out of it, etc... I have never sold a car before (but have been ripped off with the trade in)... I am in south western Virginia...

Dark blue, 30k miles, gray interior, automatic 4-cylinder, power moonroof, rear spoiler, automatic on/off headlights, fog lights, remote locks, anti-theft, power windows, power locks, ABS, tire pressure monitoring system, driver/passenger front/shoulder airbags, cruise control, radio settings on steering wheel, AM/FM/CD, trip computer (does range for gas miles, average speed, average mph, average miles per gallon.
Amazing gas mileage (33/gal hwy)& still under 3 year/36,000 mile Toyota manufacturer's warranty. Beautiful car - only selling out of necessity!
A: Your best bet is to check out what your car is worth at www.edmunds.com (Used Cars), then go to eBay Motors to sell it. If you trade it in at a dealer (any dealer) you will get hosed. I have sold 2 cars and 2 motorcycles on eBay. It takes a bit to set it up, but it's worth it. You can look at other cars like yours on eBay to see how other experienced users set up their sites, and what they are asking. Good Luck.
