Q: Is there a way to reset the average gas milage on a 2004 Toyota Sienna?
There is a mode on our 04 Sienna le where it tells the temperature that shows your average gas milage and we assume that since it hasn't changed that it is the average for the cars lifetime. We didn't know if there was a way to reset it to determine the gas milage on long trips or not. If you know of any way please give your answer, I would much appreciate it.

A: try this. using the button to get to the gas mileage and stuff, hold it down when the average fuel mileage comes up. it should reset. that answer from that girl is stupid dont listen to her

Q: What maintanence should a 2004 toyota sienna van need at 56,000 miles?
Taking a long car trip and had dealer service center change oil and inspect van. They say the van needs about $800 worth of maintenance. At 53,000 miles the oil was changed and everything was fine.

A: Most likely transmission fluid change, fuel filter, replace brake fluid not sure why it would cost $800 though.

Q: Is it really necessary to change the transmission fluid in a 2004 toyota sienna with 80k miles on it?

A: If it's an automatic you should have already done it a long time ago.

Q: How do I program my keyless remote for my 2004 Toyota Sienna?

Q: 2004 Toyota Sienna fuel filter - non-replaceable?
I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna. I am told that the fuel filter is a non-replaceable part, or at least it's not replaceable by an untrained schmuck like me. My question is, does it need replacing, and if so, how often? Thanks a lot.

A: The fuel filter is integral to the fuel pump assembly in the tank, and is good for the life of the pump. Here's the best tip concerning the pump you'll ever get. The fuel pump is submerged in fuel, which keeps it cool . Allowing the fuel level to drop below the 1/4 mark exposes the fuel pump to air, and it gets hot. A hot pump, over time, will not last as long as a pump that has been kept cool in its lifetime. TRAIN YOURSELF TO NEVER LET THE FUEL LEVEL DROP BELOW 1/4 TANK and you'll never have to replace that $600 fuel pump because of overheating. Ever drop an ice cube in a cup of hot coffee and hear it cracking/ Same principle applies to the magnets in the pump motor. It gets hot by being exposed to air, and then you splash it with cool fuel from the underground storage tank, and the magnets can be stressed and cause premature failure. But back to your question-the filter is designed to last the lifetime of the pump, but NOT the lifetime of the car-go figure.

Q: How do you open the brake light for a toyota Sienna 2004 LE?
I know how to take the bulb out but i cannot pull out the actual platic cover.

A: The rear light fixtures unbolt on the inside and pop out of place. You can then turn the bulb out of the fixture and change the brake bulb.

Q: Does the Toyota Sienna(2004) have a fuse or circuit breaker for the dc power outlets?
I think that I may be running too much power through the outlets, but I am not sure. I would like to test it but if I am going to blow a fuse I'd rather not, but if it is just a circuit breaker than I could. PLEASE ANSWER ASAP!!

Q: I've a 2004 Toyota Sienna. We have 2 working remotes, and cannot program the other 2. Any tips?
We got the van at an auction, and it came with 1 working remote. We ordered 2 more, and were able to program 1 successfully. We confirmed that the battery on the second one works, and ordered another to replace the nonworking remote, but we can't program that one either. The owner's manual says we should be able to program up to 4 remotes.

A: you have to follow the procedure in the owners manual, you must be doing something wrong.

A: Your english writing skills are good not. Makes it hard to understand what you are asking. Flip up the little black trim on the center part of the wiper arm. Use a 13mm wrench and tighten the nut. Push the little black trim back then turn on the wiper.

Q: Haul Capacity for 2004 Toyota Sienna?
I want to get a pallate of field stone, can our Sienna handle this? I guess a pallate is about 1 ton. We've done some shopping around, and most places have the stone for around $150/ea plus $80 delivery. We found a place that has it for $100/ea but the don't have delivery. Any suggestions?

A: Your Sienna has a maximum payload capacity of 1,570lbs, meaning that is the how much the vehicle can carry. Unfortunately, that is a still not the 2,000lbs you need. However, the Sienna can tow up to 3,500lbs with a trailer. You have a couple of options, you can rent a trailer if you don't already have one or rent a cargo van from U-Haul or a car rental company. They will be more than capable of handling the payload. I would suggest renting a cargo van and save your minivan the abuse of hauling a ton of stone, it should run about $50/day.

Q: 2004 Toyota Sienna LE Timing Belt Or Chain?
Does it have a timing belt or a chain? I do not have the manual for the car.

A: Assuming that this is a US 2004 Toyota Sienna... If you go to Toyota's FAQ site, http://toyota.custhelp.com/ , and search for "timing" then you'll find this document titled "Timing Belt and Timing Chain" which lists all US sold Toyota vehicles and whether they have a timing belt or timing chain/gear: http://toyota.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/toyota.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4718&p_created=1049311142&p_sid=G3FlTGWi&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MzAmcF9wcm9kcz0wJnBfY2F0cz0wJnBfcHY9JnBfY3Y9JnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9dGltaW5n&p_li=&p_topview=1 The 1998-2006 US Toyota Sienna uses a timing belt (so your Sienna has the belt, NOT the chain). 2007-2008 model years has the timing chain. See also the "Timing Belt Recommendations" FAQ for information about replacement intervals. BTW: an owner's manual, new from Toyota, is $15.95. http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/pubs.php?v=0&y=0&int=0&pv=SIENNA&py=2004&pubno= You may be able to find one cheaper on eBay or from a wrecking/scrap yard or from several online manual locations. Alternatively, if you have a decently fast internet connection, a credit card, and the patience to download a bunch of tiny PDF files, then you could get a short subscription to download the manual from Toyota: http://techinfo.toyota.com/ http://techdoc.toyota-europe.com/ and if you need the Passport to Performance (scheduled maintenance guide), then you can get it from http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/
