Q: How do I reset the tire pressure sensor on a 1999 Toyota Sienna?
The "Check Tire Pressure" light comes on every time I have any sort of work done on my tires. The car manual did not include instructions on how to reset the sensor. On the previous car I had, my mechanic showed me where the reset switch is for the O2 sensor. I'm hoping the tire sensor can be reset just as easily. Any ideas?
A: Make sure all your wheels have the proper pressure. Usually inside your drivers door. When they are set right the light will go out. This is only a sensor. It does not set pressure by itself.
Q: Toyota Sienna 1999 Catalytic Converter Replacement?
How much does it cost to replace the catalytic converter on a 1999 Toyota Sienna for both parts and labor? Also, how long should a catalytic converter last?
A: That would be best done at a Toyota dealership. Its about 1 1/2 hr labor and the price of the part so depending on which on you go to, ir will run about $300 on average. And please its best to use a Toyota Original Part.
Q: Can someone solve my 1999 Toyota Sienna LE window situation?
I have a situation here.... The front passenger power window works when it goes down..... BUT when I bring it back up it doesnt come up straight or level... Like it shifted and I have to use my hands to guide it back into place. What should I do to fix this mad-ness!?
A: Sounds like it's slipping off the track.
If you take the inside door panel off, you could be in for a real mess. Take it to a shop. Check the Yellow Pages and call around & ask how much it is to get fixed, what their hourly rate is, guarantee, etc.
Q: where to buy a 1999 toyota sienna xle door handle?
where to buy a 1999 toyota sienna xle door handle online? i cannot find it anywhere
A: It's highly unlikely that any online suppliers will have that part. I would suggest that you use the dealer for this part. It is rare that an aftermarket parts company would provide something like this. You may find one at a salvage yard if you don't want to buy a new one.
Q: 1999 Toyota Sienna Timing Belt ?
I have a friend with a 1999 Toyota Sienna and was wondering when in people's experience have they changed their timing belt.
A: A 1999 US Toyota Sienna has a timing belt. According to Toyota, the timing belt should be replaced at every 90,000 miles or 6 years, whichever occurs first. (Since it is over 9 years old now, if the timing belt hasn't been changed it is long overdue now!)
http://www.toyota.com/help/faq-service.html (See the questions "Does my vehicle have a timing belt or a timing chain?" and "What maintenance is required on my timing belt?")
It would also be listed in the 1999 Toyota Sienna's scheduled maintenance guide. If you friend has misplaced their copy, you can view it online at: http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/
Q: How do you change valve gasket for toyota sienna 1999?
A: Remove valve cover on the bank of cyliders you want to change. Carefully scrape off old gasket from valve cover and head. Remove any stray bits of old gasket. You may want to use a high temp gasket sealer between the gasket and the valve cover and the gasket and the head. Do no use too much. Refit the valve cover and tighten to bolts to factory specifications. When tightening the bolts, loosely fit the bolts before tightening and only tighten each bolt a little before moving on to the next bolt, eg, half turn, next bolt, half turn, next bolt, etc. This will help make sure that the gasket is well seated and the valve cover is not warped.
Q: should i use oem brake pads or auto zones brake pads for a 1999 Toyota sienna ?
A: Use Auto Zone pads... the most important thing in a brake job is to make sure you rotors/drums are in good shape.

Hey guys..I need some help please...I work in a gas station and dont really have a whole lot of money..dont have a car either...my boss said I could have his 1999 Toyota Sienna minivan for 500 bucks if I wanted it. But it has 365000 miles...He got the van brand new in 1999 and has been a single owner and used it only for getting groceries for the store from atlanta (2 hours away..we're in alabama)...Hence its all highway miles but he said theres some problem with oil problem and some shaking and stuff. he doesnt know much about cars and i havent seen it yet..he parked it in atlanta and we are going tomorrow to get it here..please let me know what you guys think about it.. A: Examine the car yourself using an inspection checklist. You can find a checklist in many of the magazine articles, books and Internet sites that deal with buying a used car.
Test drive the car under varied road conditions - on hills, highways, and in stop-and-go traffic.
Ask for the car's maintenance record. If the owner doesn't have copies, contact the dealership or repair shop where most of the work was done. They may share their files with you.
Talk to the previous owner, especially if the present owner is unfamiliar with the car's history.
Have the car inspected by a mechanic you hire.
You can find out a used car's history, which is a must if you're buying a used car that is not certified, by logging on to www.carfax.com.
Q: 365000 miles on 1999 toyota sienna...?

A: That is a $500 gamble. You seems like desperate for a set of wheels. It might need some balancing or replacement of warped rotors. The main concern is the big stuff, like the engine and such. I will like to give it a shot, but is a gamble! The engine is pretty used up and the oil problem that he say could be worn piston rings and/or valve guides.
I need to see it though, is too border line just to advice online.
Good luck and follow your instincts :-)
Q: is the engine for toyota sienna 1999 model same with a 1994 camry?
A: sorry but no. the sienna has an engine that was designed specifically for the vans.
Q: What do I need to know before I take a Toyota Sienna's grinding brakes in for repair?
When the brakes are applied on a 1999 Toyota Sienna, there is a horrific grinding noise. A pretty loud grinding noise. My strong belief is that the brakes are well past their useful life, and have probably been driven to the point where the repair is going to be expensive.
So, now, before I take it into a shop and "trust" someone to diagnose and repair the problem, I am wondering if I can pull the wheels and see how much damage is involved. Is there anyone who can give me a laundry list of items to look at, what okay/not okay looks like, and... maybe even a very rough cost magnitude if it is known?
For what it is worth, I am not a mechanic but I can easily get a jack take a wheel off and look at things. It sure would be nice to know something when I am dealing with an auto repair shop. At the moment, I am a sitting duck for a dishonest garage.
A: The only thing you need to know is your bank balance.
The rotors are shot. You need pads, rotors, probably new calipers, and if the grinding was caused by a faulty master cylinder, you will need one of those too. There is a good chance that contamination got into the brake lines on at least one of the calipers due to the drawback of brake fluid from excessive caliper piston movement, so you may even need a new brake line. That is of course the worst case scenario.
All in all I would roughly guess at a 600 to 800 dollar repair bill, but it may be more.
Q: Dashboard light means what on Toyota Sienna?
I just bought a 1999 Toyota Sienna with no manual and while driving home the dashboard light just below the fuel gage came on. It is yellow and has a round shape with 2 arrows pointing in to each other with a dot in the middle. Does anyone know what the light means?
A: I had that Tire Pressure Light come on frequently before, and it was bec the computer sensed the tire pressure in one of my tires was off/low... Problem is my spare wasn't much better and it was on a out-of-state trip so I dropped my speed back and it required frequent stops to get air. When I got home, Costco sells BF Goodrich and I ended up buying 2 brand new tires and the problem went away. Just remember to rotate them every 7,500 to 8,000 miles and Costco does it for free, as well as fixing flat tires.
Hope the Info Helps and Enjoy Your Sienna!

A: Maxima is the way to go. The Sienna isn't really that attractive and the Maxima is faster. The Maxima is one of the few things Nissan got right...
Q: What Toyota factory radios will fit my 1999 Sienna?
Are there factory radios from other Toyota cars/models that will fit my 1999 Sienna van? I'm looking for an easy and inexpensive solution to my current radio problem. Thanks for your help!

Q: Toyota Sienna vent blowwing cold air when set on hot?
I own a 1999 Toyota Sienna. When I have the heat set on "HOT" I continue to get cold air blowing through the vents. What causes this and how do I fix it???
I have plenty of heat going to the back seat. The control dial on the dash has alot of resistence.
A: it sound like the knob that is on the dashboard is no longer attached to the flap that closes the cold air vent form the front and opes the heat exchange. IS THERE ANY RESISTANCE WHEN YOU TURN THE KNOB OR DOES IT TURN TOO FREELYU?
